Horseback Riding

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is known worldwide as an ideal location for raising horses, and Jackson County is no exception. Several ranches offer horseback riding tours, and trails on which to bring your own horses. Much of the Daniel Boone National Forest has trails suitable for horse riding, not least of which is the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail, which has many sections ideal for exploring on horseback.

Jackson County Wagon and Saddle Club

The Jackson County Wagon and Saddle Club hosts several events throughout the year, which include a mule/horse pull for charity (cancer society), fun shows, straightaway races and several trail rides. Jackson County has hundreds of miles of trails and we ride a different section as often as possible. Meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Old Courthouse. Everyone is invited to join the club and attends meetings, whether you ride or drive.  Rides and events are posted on the JCWSC Facebook page. Please check the community calendar for club events, also follow the link to the Facebook page to see pictures and events.

Contact the JCWSC at 606-493-5604 or 606-493-6802 with any questions.
